These are the steps you may follow to write a proper Postcard to someone overseas:
1º Write the addressee address in the right side of the postcard. Also remember to add the country if you are overseas.
2º The left side of the post card will be where we write the text. We can begin with “Liebe..” plus the name of the person you are writting the postcard to.
3º Now we skip a line and then write where we are at the moment. For example, if we travel to Helsinki, we can write “Jetzt, ich bin gerade in Helsinki, hier is sehr kalt”.
4ºThen we can add something about the place we're staying at or describe anything particularly interesting about places that you've visited during your stay in Helsinki. Zum beispiel: “Die Leute hier sind ein bischen ernst, aber sie kochen sehr schmeckt gerichte”
5ºTo enrich the text and make it more interesting for the person who's going to read it, we can add details about the most recent activity you've done there, something you deem remarkable or whatever. Example: “Heute Morgen, wir sind in die aquarium 'Sea-Life' gegewesen. Es ist fantastisch. Weist du hier Sie haben ein Tintenfisch wie Paul? Sein name ist Yakki”.
6ºTo finish the composition, we have to add a closing. This could be a nice attempt
“Viele Grüße,
Dein/e [name here]”

This example have more or less the main points a 'Postkarte' should cover.
Don't worry, i know there's lots of new words we may or may not know.
We've just to focus on the structure and as we progress learning new sentences and
vocabulary, we will be able to compose better postcards and such.
